Fundraising ... We couldn't do it without you!
This award was designed and created by Leo Sepa, Wayne Rose and John Lennard to honour a person in the community who has made a significant contribution to the Arts.
Arts Alive Minden, formerly known as the Minden Hills Cultural Centre Foundation, relies on the generosity of the community to support its promotion of the arts in Minden Hills and Haliburton County. In return, the community acknowledges the efforts of the Foundation by attending the annual fund-raiser. More than just an auction, the event, held annually each October, is an opportunity to showcase some of the most outstanding artists in the community. Patrons enjoy viewing the work on display and up for sale, many of them taking home a treasure at a reasonable price. The event is also a great social evening with plenty of opportunities for meeting fellow supporters of the arts and many of the creative people who make our community a lively centre for the arts.
Arts Exposed.....A Cultural Affair provides an occasion for local artists to show their support for the growth of the arts in the community. By donating their work for auction, they are endorsing the efforts of the Foundation, knowing that the proceeds will help enrich the community in a variety of ways.
Each year the Foundation recognizes a member of the community for his or her outstanding contribution to the arts. This Arts Alive Award has been designed to acknowledge an effort in supporting the arts in Minden Hills and area. The name of the recipient will be announced during the Arts Exposed....A Cultural Affair evening.

In addition to this annual event, Arts Alive Minden has hosted special fundraising events like the "funspeil" at the Minden Curling Club. Geared for the non-competitive curler, the one-day event is a great way to support the arts in Minden Hills and for people to try the sport of curling.
Arts Alive Minden also accepts donations from private individuals and corporations. As a registered charity, all donations are eligible for a tax deduction. Donations are used to further the aims of the Foundation. For more information on how to make a donation, contact Arts Alive Minden via email or by regular mail at Arts Alive Minden, Box 653, Minden, ON, K0M 2K0.
