Community Grant Program
Arts Alive Minden supports programs and events for residents and visitors to Minden Hills, involving art, crafts, literature, heritage, music, photography, etc. Over the years, we've funded theatre camps for youth, puppetry, arts education in the schools, jewelry making courses, busker training and heritage projects. Grants are generally in the $300 - $1000 range.
Eligibility
- Any artist or community group may apply to Arts Alive Minden to support the delivery of cultural programs or events in Minden Hills and area.
- We prefer artists to work through community groups and community groups to have partnerships, but this is not a requirement for support.
- The programs will occur within our fiscal year from March 1st of one year to February 28th of the next year.
- Applications will only be accepted by the yearly deadline of April 15.
Application Review
- We will review each application, using a rating system based on the applicant's answers to the questions
- We may request that the applicant attend a meeting to clarify items in the application
- The applicant will be notified by the Secretary of the decision of the Board
- The applicant will receive payments in 2 installments: 1) 50% on signing an agreement to deliver the project; 2) 50% on completion of the project. If the project is cancelled for whatever reason, all funds will be returned to Arts Alive Minden.
Project Delivery
- We encourage all projects to develop communication plans to ensure attendance at programs or events and wish to be copied on the communications as they are rolled out.
- We request that our contribution be acknowledged in promotional materials and may also request joint promotion of events.
